OKX exchange published its 49th proof-of-reserves report on November 3, 2026, based on a snapshot of user asset balances taken on November 1, 2026. The latest data reveals a notable portfolio shift during October 2026, as holdings in major-cap cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum posted steady growth, in contrast to the declining volume of the stablecoin USDT deposited on the platform.
Bitcoin holdings increase by nearly 13,800 coins
According to the detailed report released by OKX, total Bitcoin owned by users on the exchange reached 156,609 BTC, up 9.66% (equivalent to a net addition of approximately 13,800 BTC) compared to the statistical period on October 3, 2026. At the same time, customer Ethereum balances also grew 2.95% to 1.92 million ETH, representing an increase of 54,879 ETH.
On the other hand, user USDT stablecoin balances on the exchange decreased by 9% over the month, falling from over 8.74 billion USDT to 7.96 billion tokens, a drop of nearly 787 million USDT. The ecosystem’s utility token, OKB, recorded a slight decrease of 0.08%, standing at 19.68 million tokens.
OKX’s reserve ratio table shows that all major coins achieved overcollateralized reserve levels:
-
Bitcoin: Reserve ratio reached 108%, with total assets controlled by the exchange at 169,755 BTC (including 7,163 BTC held with independent third-party custodians).
-
Ethereum: Reserve ratio reached 101%, with total wallet assets under control nearing 1.93 million ETH.
-
Tether (USDT): Reserve ratio reached 106%, with exchange wallet holdings exceeding 8.46 billion USDT.
-
Other assets: USDC maintained a 100% ratio, Solana reached 105%, and XRP reached 107%.
Capital flows and on-chain transparency
The upward trend in BTC and ETH balances alongside USDT withdrawals reflects an asset reallocation mindset among investors. Rather than sitting in digital cash on the sidelines, capital tended to rotate into foundational cryptocurrencies ahead of pivotal political and macroeconomic events in the United States, mirroring movements seen ahead of the US election with cautious derivatives positions.
OKX continues to publish monthly proof-of-reserves attestations using Merkle tree tools, allowing users to independently verify their individual wallet balances. The platform is aggressively expanding institutional financial services following the completion of a $2.5 billion strategic funding round with participation from Circle and Ripple, despite facing complex legal controversies tied to traditional equity markets, such as the incident involving 50 companies refusing to issue tokenized shares on OKXICE. Nonetheless, security experts note that proof-of-reserves reports only verify that on-chain assets exceed customer deposit liabilities, and do not serve as a full substitute for a comprehensive financial audit covering a firm’s off-chain liabilities.
