On October 21, 2026, legal artificial intelligence startup Legora officially announced the closing of a $550 million Series E funding round, lifting the company’s valuation to $8.8 billion.
The funding round was led by Atreides Management, with participation from a slate of major Silicon Valley names including Baron Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, and Menlo Ventures. The company will use the new capital to continue scaling its services for clients across North America and international markets.
Doubling Recurring Revenue in Just Six Months
Alongside its surging valuation, Legora disclosed that its annual recurring revenue (ARR) has now surpassed $200 million. This marks a notable leap compared to figures announced in April 2026, when the company completed an extension to its Series D round at a $5.6 billion valuation and recorded an ARR of $100 million.
This revenue growth pace reflects the urgent demand for digitization across the legal services industry, historically one of the sectors with the highest high-skilled labor costs in the world. Rather than stopping at basic Q&A interfaces, Legora’s tools focus on automating real-world workflows for law firms: from contract risk review and litigation data extraction to assisting with drafting complex legal filings.
Head-to-Head Competition with Unicorn Harvey
The success of this funding round also puts Legora in direct competition with its biggest industry rival, Harvey. Just one month earlier, in September 2026, Harvey announced an identically sized $550 million funding round, but at a valuation reaching $15.5 billion. Harvey had also confirmed crossing the $200 million ARR milestone earlier this year.
The surge of capital flowing into platforms like Legora and Harvey highlights a fundamental shift in the wave of enterprise AI adoption. Following an initial phase of experimentation with general-purpose language models, venture funding is concentrating on vertical industry solutions, where legal terminology barriers and requirements for absolute precision create strong defensive moats for leading products.
